In between fall wedding season there are babies being born and families to be photographed. Last week I spent a drizzly morning with these new parents, who happen to be related to my latest newborn, in case you want to rabbit trail your way down their beautiful family line. I will share the words I shared with a sneak peek of their session on my instagram before leaving you with a few images from our time together.
Something about that delicate nose finding its fit in the crevice of her mother’s affections makes me pause in appreciation for the sacred first weeks of motherhood. Wonder is birthed in the sleepy, stupefied state of awe when you behold the one you blindly loved within you. Its emotions re-emerge for me every time I watch a couple experience it from the other side of my camera, and I find my resolve within an opportunity to give an image of it back to them, convinced that normal eventually dissipates the fog of novelty, and this season will lift like a dream they can’t quite remember.
